We are pleased to announce the Johnstown Warriors 10U/12U Skill Development Program for the 2025-2026 season.

This program will focus on skill-based grouping, allowing players and goalies to train with peers of similar abilities. This approach ensures that each participant receives the appropriate level of challenge, preventing frustration and maximizing growth.

The curriculum is built around core hockey fundamentals:

• Positioning: Understanding how to be in the right place at the right time on the ice.
• Shooting & Passing: Developing proper technique and power for shots, and accuracy for passes.
• Stick Handling: Improving control and creativity with the puck.
• Skating: Enhancing edge work, speed, and agility.

The program's methodology combines structured drills with small-area games to teach all aspects of the game in a dynamic and engaging environment. Drills will reinforce proper technique, while small-area games will help players apply those skills in realistic, fast-paced situations. The ultimate goal is to progressively develop each player's skills, preparing them for the next level of competition.

The program is for players with birth years 2013-2017. Practices and games will take place at the 1st Summit Arena at the Cambria County War Memorial and North Central Recreation Center (NCRC).

Registration will be open through Saturday, September 30th, 2025.

Program Details:

• Season will start in October and should run through February depending upon ice availability.

• Most sessions will be on Monday from 4:40pm until 5:40pm

• Practices will focus mainly on individual skill development and small area games.

• No Hockey Experience is necessary, but the Learn to Skate program is encouraged for those with no prior skating experience. http://theskatingclubofjohnstown.com/learn-to-skate
